Who is behind the Parke Street Development, Katoomba?
The project, on the former TAFE site on Parke Street in Katoomba, is a collaborative enterprise between the State Government, Blue Mountains City Council and Coles Group Limited.
What will the development provide?
This significant development will provide the Blue Mountains region with:
  • The Blue Mountains Cultural Centre precinct featuring a regional City Art Gallery, World Heritage Interpretive Centre, a theatrette, a multi-purpose workshop, public art courtyards, gallery shop and café, a new public library, and undercover parking.
  • A modern retail development including a Coles Supermarket and specialty shops and basement carparking for over 300 cars.
What is the current status of the development?
The Development Application for the proposed Parke Street Redevelopment in Katoomba consisting of the new Blue Mountains Cultural Centre and Coles Retail Centre has been lodged with the Blue Mountains City Council.
When will construction start?
A construction schedule will be fully determined once DA approval has been reached. It is anticipated that project would then move ahead promptly towards the first stage of construction which would be site preparation.
